Commissions

Collaborate

Every commissioned painting begins with a conversation. Whether you have a vivid concept in mind or are looking for guidance, this stage is about creating a shared vision.

  • Describe Your Vision: You'll share the subject matter, inspiration, and emotional tone you'd like the final work to convey.
  • Subject Selection: Together, we’ll determine the main figure(s) or focus of the piece—be it a portrait, still life, or meaningful scene.
  • Choose a Style: From refined realism to expressive abstraction, the artist will tailor the aesthetic to suit your preferences.
  • Select Materials: Paintings are typically created in acrylic, but oil is available upon request. (Please note: oil commissions require additional drying time.)
  • Set a Timeline: We’ll agree on a completion date based on complexity, material choice, and scheduling availability.

Pricing

Commission pricing is based on several factors that contribute to the scope and intricacy of the piece.

  • Canvas Size: Larger works require more time and materials.
  • Number of Subjects: Portraits with multiple figures will be quoted accordingly.
  • Style & Background Detail: The level of abstraction, realism, and intricacy affects pricing.
  • Overall Complexity: Unique requests or conceptual elements may increase the total.
  • Live Sitting or Photo Reference: Clients may choose to sit in person or provide quality photographs.
  • Materials Deposit: A deposit for materials is required to begin the project.
  • Final Payment: Full payment is due at the final approval meeting.
  • Rush Option: Expedited timelines may incur an additional rush fee.
  • Delivery Fees: Framing, packaging, or shipping fees are not included in the commission price.
  • Material Impact: Please note that oil paints require a longer drying and curing period compared to acrylics.

Completion

The creative process follows a structured path to ensure a result that reflects our shared vision.

  • Initial Sketch: A preliminary composition is created for your review and approval.
  • Color Palette Selection: Once the sketch is approved, we finalize the color scheme together.
  • Painting Process: The artist begins work, bringing your vision to life. The piece will be completed to near-final stage before your review.
  • Final Approval Meeting: You'll see the nearly finished work and provide final feedback.
  • Finishing Touches: After the approval, the final details are completed, and the painting is prepared for delivery.
